This summer our hearts are turned towards helping provide housing and schooling to refugees in Dominican Republic.
We have three major projects.
We are building 2 houses and adding onto a Haitian refugee school. Most of girls attending the school are forced into prostitution to survive. We are trying to help educate them so they can make money to survive.

We have partnered with the Dominican Starfish Foundation (a local Alberta non-profit). All donations are tax write-offs and 100% of your donation goes directly to the project. We are all volunteers and we have no admin fees. If you'd like to learn more, visit @dominicanstarfishfoundation.
Showhome has a goal to give away $1,000,000 in it's lifetime! This year we were able to give away $100,000!
Showhome Furniture is run by a local family called, the Sala. They started Showhome Furniture 18 years ago. As their business grew through amazing customer service, so did their family. They have six daughters and now have the largest local furniture store in Calgary at NORTH HILL CENTER.
From Showhomes' beginning they felt God called them to use a portion of their earnings to help people in Calgary and in third world countries.
The Sala family has travelled the earth trying to find people to help. They love doing free home make-overs and mentoring people in business. In the last several years they have sent staff members on humanitarian trips to do good on this earth.
Both Sannie, a local Bowness boy, and Shay have been blessed by so many that they had a strong desire to give back.
They also believe strongly in supporting local people and charities. When Sannie was a young boy, his mother suddenly died. Leaving his father a widow with eight small children. There were so many people in the Calgary community who reached out to his family and made sure they had food, presents for Christmas, and extra things an immigrant family would need. That is why they feel so strongly to give back to their local community. Here are a few of the charities they give to:
