Choosing a custom couch involves several decisions, and it is easier to feel comfortable with them when the details are written down. A useful order checklist brings the room, the furniture and the delivery plan together before you approve the purchase.
1. Measure the room and the route
Record the wall lengths and mark doors, windows, vents and walkways on a simple floor plan. Then measure the route from the building entrance to the room, including elevators, stairs and tight corners. A sofa can fit the floor plan and still be difficult to bring inside.
Ask for the overall dimensions and the delivery dimensions of each component. Confirm whether legs or other parts can be removed according to the manufacturer's instructions. Do not assume that every sectional can be separated into smaller pieces.
2. Write down the exact configuration
Use a labelled drawing to confirm the chaise position, corner pieces, arms and total footprint. Terms such as left-facing can be misunderstood when people picture a sofa from different directions. Have the team show you the orientation on the manufacturer's plan.
Compare our sofas in Calgary and sectionals in Calgary in person. Tell us how many people normally sit together and which activities the room needs to accommodate.
3. Confirm the fabric and comfort specification
Record the fabric name, colour and code, plus any approved finish or cushion options. Ask which choices are available for that model rather than assuming all custom couches have the same options. Sit on a sample and establish whether it represents the version you will receive.
Request the care instructions and applicable warranty. If a particular material or certification matters to you, ask for supporting information for the exact product. A general sales description is not a substitute for those details.
4. Review the complete quote and terms
Check the furniture price, taxes and any separately quoted delivery, assembly or protection services. Ask what is included and what is optional. Review payment requirements and the estimated production and arrival dates without treating an estimate as a guaranteed delivery appointment.
Showhome custom orders are final sale under the return policy. Confirm the order details and applicable cancellation terms with the team before you approve the order. A custom purchase should not be based on an assumed home trial.
5. Keep your order information together
Save the approved drawing, quote and product details in one place. Contact Showhome if your address, move-in timing or access arrangements change. For delivery, confirm the provider, service level and appointment details before booking.
