OUR THREE FAVORITE TIPS TO ACHIEVE THAT “STUDIO MCGEE” LOOK

Most of us will say that kitchen is the heart of the home…

and we couldn’t agree more! As December comes to a close and our schedules are shifting, we’re spending more and more time in our kitchens and prepare for the coming new year.

No matter how big or small a kitchen space is, there are a few things we like to consider when designing and styling them to make sure they are filled with form, function and design we want.

Here are the 3 best tips to improve your kitchen space:

1: Add a Runner

If you’re hesitant to style a rug in your kitchen, we get it! Kitchens are high-traffic areas that typically involve frequent spills and happy accidents. However, the right runner will surely add so much warmth and texture to the kitchen, and using a piece made with a highly durable material like wool can actually simplify clean-up time.

2: Bring Unexpected Texture with your Stools and Chairs

Incorporating eye-catching designer details into your seating pieces is one of the easiest ways to add a layer of thoughtfulness to any kitchen or dining look.

Whether it’s a warm leather wrap or a subtle woven detail, textural seating elements instantly bring more interest and dimension to your space.

3: Incorporate Elevated Details

When it comes to kitchen styling, it’s all about the little details that bring both personality and functionality to your space. We love adding vintage-inspired art, textural cutting boards, and pretty serve-ware to open shelving and countertop surfaces.

One of our favorite ways to add functional beauty to the kitchen is by styling a tray or pedestal next to the stove or sink to keep olive oil, salt, pepper, or other frequently used necessities.
