HOW THE MOUNTAIN HOUSE PROJECT BEGAN...
Christmas came early to the mountain retreat home this year🎄 It all began with a crazy idea to renovate a house that we had built 10 years ago down by Waterton.
Due to Covid we could not send our clients to the ShowHome vacation house in Hawaii that we had renovated for our guests.
As business owners we love to give back to our community and to people in our community who needs a little hand up.
Last year we were able to send 24 Calgary people to Hawaii.
But sadly not this year. So, we were thinking, how could we still give back to our clients and to people in need?
We decided a month ago to start renovating our mountain house that we have at Waterton.
It has beautiful stunning mountain views and situated on 50 acres of prairie land.Â
The design plan was to stick to natural woods, stones, trendy mountain decor.Â
We began by styling it with a solid acacia wood live edge dining table with a metal base.
We used a long bench, three fabric chairs and two gorgeous captain chairs that are made of goat hair.
The dining room is connected to the living room.
We styled the living room with two large leather sofas and two leather black occasional chairs with a very cool rug.
We topped off the space with the reclaimed coffee table (storage coffee table) with a brush of metal octagonal base which we just love.
We really wanted to make a statement and so we renovated our wood-burning stove added some real stones and some shiplap and cut holes in the hearth so we could add wood down below to add warmth to the space.
We added some fun accessories: huge black clock, hand-painted horse painting, gorgeous pendant lights and the most stunning farmhouse Chandelier.Â
We have loved doing this project. It has kept us going through Covid and isolation. And the best part is is my mom and dad came to live with us during the renovations so at least my kids get to see their grandparents because they are in their circle.
We still have mini other rooms to renovate but we wanted to show you guys this room. We hope all of you guys are being safe and doing OK during Covid. This is really tough times. We are going to continue to do giveaways and lots of Christmas magic for you all. Until next time!
We thank you for following us along our journey!Â
PS: Good news! SHOWHOMEÂ is now carrying TWELVE OAKS FLOORING! The name of a floor is called sandstone.
